A petty thief displayed both self-awareness and remorse in the wake of an attempted criminal jaunt. The thief entered the Pit Stop Store on Hollywood Boulevard and took an 18 pack of Bud Light beer from the premises without paying, stated a Fort Walton Beach Police Department Notice to Appear. The pack was valued at $18.01 after tax. He was promptly arrested. “It was a bad decision,” he told officers when he was questioned. The defendant was just shy of his 23rd birthday.

Had Anthony Shane Peacock perhaps considered for a moment purchasing a scarf to cover the body art on the body part that holds his head on his shoulders, he might not be facing felony credit card fraud charges today. According to an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office report Peacock was caught by a bank surveillance camera “making unauthorized transactions” using an ex-roommate’s ATM card. Or at least the person making the unauthorized transaction “had a tattoo on the right side of his neck that was identical to Peacock’s tattoo,” according to the report. Peacock also was “wearing specific sweat shirts on both transactions,” the report said. Maybe a turtleneck wouldn’t have been so bad after all. He was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card and larceny.
